Madame Butterfly Cakes is a custom cake shop that specializes in decorative cakes for every occasion.  We can design a one of a kind cake for your next event whether a small dinner party, birthday, wedding or corporate event.  When you order a cake from us you are commissioning a piece of edible art!   

To maintain the attention to detail and quality of our cakes we only take a limited number of orders per weekend.  The number of orders taken is based on servings and the level of detail required of each cake so of course this changes weekend to weekend.  This makes it difficult to predict when a weekend will be closed out to additional orders so we ask that you place your orders as early as possible to ensure you can book your party date.  You can book your party date with preliminary information on servings and design and confirm exact servings 10 days prior to your event. 

 

All orders are final sale and deposits are non refundable.

How To Cut & Serve Your Cake

 

The rule of thumb is 4 hours for a cake to sit at room temperature.  Keep in mind room temp doesn’t mean outside on a hot, humid 90 degree day or in the garage in zero degree weather!  You advise serving the cake at room temperature.  This allows the cake, filling and frosting to soften and “release” its flavor.  If you do not want to leave your cake out for display during the party at least allow an 30 minutes for smaller cakes and at least an hour and a half for larger cakes to come to room temp before serving.

 

 

Preserving Handmade Toppers and Decorations

 

Decorations made from sugarclay can be kept and displayed in glass display cases.  After removing the decoration from the cake wipe off any buttercream with a dry cloth.  Let the decoration dry for a few days at room temp, away from moisture and direct sunlight.  After piece has dried you can spray it with Minwax brand polyurethane spay sealant.  Do 2-3 very light sprays but allow to dry between each spraying.  Place in a display case to keep dust free...you can play a moisture absorber in the case with the decoration as well.
